Caldwell defeats Wilson Dragons
The Wilson High School Dragons varsity football team fought valiantly, but lost to the Caldwell Bluejays Oct. 30 by a score of 20-68.
Wilson mustered 149 yards of total offense during the game. That paled in comparison, however, to the 347 yards the Bluejays produced.
Wilson threw for 58 yards in the air, compared to Caldwell’s 78 yards.
The Dragons had 91 rushing yards, compared to 269 for Caldwell.
Wilson also had two turnovers during the game.
The Dragons’ Camryn Eberhart was 3 for 7 with one touchdown and one interception.
In the rushing department, Cooper Weinhold ran for 56 yards on 19 attempts, followed by Eberhart with 34 yards on 15 attempts.
In the first quarter, Eberhart scored first for the Dragons with a one yard run for a touchdown. The two point conversion was no good.
Weinhold scored in the second quarter on a 3 yard run for a touchdown. Again, the two point conversion was not successful.
In the third quarter, Eberhart completed a 35 yard pass to Weinhold for a touchdown. The two point conversion attempt failed.
For Coach Tony Brokes and his Dragons, the defeat to Caldwell ended their season at 4-5.
