Central Plains Oilers blow out St. John 48-0

ST. JOHN — The Central Plains Oilers football team bounced back from last week’s 48-0 Homecoming defeat against Little River with a 48-0 victory Sept. 4 on the road against St. John.

The Oilers’ William Laymon had three rushing and three pass receiving scores against the Tigers.

Defensively, Central Plains had a stack of unassisted tackles against St. John, led by Karter Beck with six, and Matthew Donecke, William Laymon and Juan Vasquez each with four.

Layman led the Oilers in assisted tackles with three, followed by Dawson McNeal, Juan Vasquez, Tyler Holmes and Denver Crenshaw each with two, and Karter Beck, Matthew Donecker and Michael Laymon each with one.

Michael Laymon led the Oilers in passes broken up with three, followed by McNeal, Donecke and William Laymon with two, and Vasquez and Holmes each with one.

Head coach Chris Steiner and his Oilers squad are now 2-3 overall on the season. They next take on Pratt-Skyline Friday, Oct. 11, at home in Claflin. Game time is at 7 p.m.
