Ellsworth’s No. 1 doubles team of Adam Vehring and Brendan Anderson placed 1st in their category Tuesday, April 6, at the Ellsworth High School Varsity Invitational Tennis Tournament.

Peyton Ryan of Central Plains took 1st in No. 1 singles.

Overall, Central Plains placed 3rd and Ellsworth finished 5th. Hoisington took the top spot, followed by Salina South in 2nd place. Eight schools competed.

Ellsworth’s team of Vehring and Anderson defeated Sacred Heart and Hoisington on its way to 1st place in singles.

Ryan knocked off top players from Ellinwood and Sterling to win its 1st place in No 1 singles.

The Bearcats headed to Sterling Tuesday. Central Plains was set to play again in Ellsworth today (Thursday).
