Two members of the Ellsworth Junior-Senior High School golf team scored in the top five during the April 1 varsity golf tournament at the Hoisington Invitational at Lake Barton Golf Course in Hoisington.

Avery Haxton placed third, shooting rounds of 50 and 40, while Parker McGowan shot a 48 and 47 for fourth place.

Other Bearcats placing in the tournament were Will Cravens, shooting a 51 and 50 for eighth place; Avery Holecek taking 21st place with rounds of 59 and 65; Dayton LaDuke placed 26th, with rounds of 62 and 65 and Cady Hansen came in 30th with rounds of 69 and 73.

As a team, Ellsworth took second with 410 points.

Sacred Heart Varsity Invitational

April 15

The Ellsworth Junior-Senior High School golf team took third place overall April 15, at the Sacred Heart Varsity Invitational at the Salina Municipal Golf Course. The team scored a total of 359 points.

Individually, Bearcat Avery Haxton placed 10th, shooting rounds of 43 and 44. Parker McGowan placed 11th with rounds of 41 and 46. Will Cravens took 12th, with rounds of 46 and 42. Rowdy Dunn came in 19th with rounds of 44 and 53. Wyatt Bohnen took 24th, with rounds of 48 and 56. And Dayton LaDuke took 29th in the tournament, shooting rounds of 56 and 58.

The Ellsworth Junior-Senior High School golf team took first overall at the April 13 Minneapolis Varsity Invitational, which was played at the Minneapolis Golf Course.

Individually, Bearcat Avery Haxton took second place, shooting a 38 and a 47. His teammate, Will Cravens, took fourth place with rounds of 45 and 45. Bearcat Parker McGowan took fifth with rounds of 46 and 46. Bearcat Wyatt Bohnen shot a 47 and a 53 for seventh place, and Rowdy Dunn had rounds of 47 and 53 for 10th place. The Ellsworth Bearcats took second overall as a team April 22 during the Beloit Varsity Invitational Golf Tournament at Beloit.

The Ellsworth Junior-Senior High School golf team took fifth at the I-70 Varsity Classic April 29 at the Wakeeney Golf Course and the Ellis Country Club.

Individually, Bearcat Avery Haxton took 10th place with rounds of 44 and 44. His teammate, Will Cravens placed 13th with rounds of 46 and 46. Wyatt Bohnen placed 17th, shooting a 45 and 48, Parker McGowan took 23rd with rounds of 51 and 49. Rowdy Dunn shot a 52 and 57 to take 34th place while Dayton LaDuke took 29th place with rounds of 52 and 54.
