Here are the Ellsworth results from this past weekend’s state track competition at Wichita:

• Boys 4 x 400m Relay 7th place: 3:35.27 Luke Sharp, Joshua Rodriguez Riley Stone, Trey Anderson.

• 200m 11th place: Trey Anderson 23.32.

• 4 x 100m Relay 15th place: 54.84 Bradley Vopat, Trey Anderson, Riley Stone, Luke Sharp.

“We did not have the greatest meet today,” said head coach Nick Rodriguez. “Trey struggled in the 200m prelims and did not qualify for the finals later in the day. The boys 4x100m relay missed the 2nd handoff and they back tracked to get the baton in the zone, which cost us a lot of time. We were able to make the podium in the 4x4 but had hoped to improve our time from regionals. We took a lot of inexperienced athletes to the state meet and that may have affected the way we performed.

“Overall we had a great track season and we hate losing all the seniors we had on the team. They provided some stability and leadership for a very young squad. Hopefully, we can try to build up our numbers on the team and get some kids qualified for next year’s state meet in 2022.
