The Bearcat boys buried Beloit, 57-39, Friday night in a non-conference game at Ellsworth.

It was senior night and two seniors — Avery Haxton and Braden Schulte — led the ‘Cats in scoring. Haxton dropped 22 points in the basket and Schulte contributed 13 points.

Schulte and Will Cravens each sank three 3 pointers. Cravens was the third ‘Cat in double digits with 11 total points.

Cade Gwinner put 2 points on the board.

Ellsworth out rebounded the Trojans, 43 to 26. Steals was another area where the ‘Cats shined — 12 to 2.

These seniors were recognized Friday night during the game with Beloit:

Cheerleaders: Grace Chegwidden, Jaycee Cunningham, Brooke Farmer, Lydia Mai, Maggie Windholz.

Wrestling: Eryk Andalon, Keegan DeLair, Teagon Nienke, and Tyler Romero. Basketball: Trey Anderson, Avery Haxton, Dawson Kratzer, John Kyler, Parker McGowan, Braden Schulte, Luke Sharp, and Jaxson Stefek.

The girls didn’t play Friday night. Instead, the game against the Lady Trojans was postponed to Feb. 22 at Ellsworth.

Ellsworth traveled to Minneapolis Tuesday night. Game results were not available at press time.

The next game for the Bearcats will be Friday night at home. It’s Winter Homecoming.

Candidates are: Grace Chegwidden, Lydia Mai, Steph Soukup and Kelsey Ashbaugh, and Noah Erichsen, Trey Anderson, Parker McGowan and Teagon Nienke.

The Wilson Dragons also will celebrate Winter Homecoming Friday night at Wilson.
