HESSTON — The Ellsworth High School Lady Bearcats Tennis Team placed second with a total of 23 points in the Sept. 22 Hesston High School Tennis Invitational in Hesston.

Other teams competing were Circle, who took first; Smoky Valley, who took third; Conway Springs, who took fourth; Valley Center, who took fifth; Hesston, who took sixth; Hutch Trinity, who took seventh; and Haven, who took eighth.

In number one singles, Ellsworth’s Cassie Most placed fifth overall, with victories against opponents from Valley Center and Hutch Trinity.

In number two singles, Ellsworth’s Calli Sheridan placed first with victories over opponents from Circle and Smoky Valley.

In number one doubles, the Lady Bearcats team of Nicole Haase and Maggie Windholz placed fourth, with losses to opponents from Circle and Conway Springs.

In number two doubles, the Lady Bearcats team of Jaycee Cunningham and Steph Soukup took first with victories over Circle and Smoky Valley.
