Ellsworth runners compete at Lyons

The EJSHS cross country team traveled to Camp Wa Ja outside of Lyons Oct. 1, to compete in their invitational meet. Ellsworth head coach Eric Coonrod said after a 45 minute delay for rain and lightning, the competition was started with the 7th grade mile race. The 8th grade had a 2 mile race, and the day was finished with the high school 5K races. At the end of the day, Ellsworth brought home a lot of medals and even had some personal best times. The boys’ team continues doing well, and with the top five members of the team finishing in the top 11, the team finished in first place overall as a team. The teams competed Tuesday at the tough Ellsworth Invitational; results were not available by press time.
