The Ellsworth High School Lady Bearcats Volleyball Team competed in two tournaments at home Oct. 7 and Oct. 8 in Ellsworth.

The Lady ‘Cat varsity squad lost to Beloit in a pair of matches. In the first match, Ellsworth lost 13-25 and 14-25. In the second match, Ellsworth lost 17-25 and 10-25.

Ellsworth’s junior varsity squad also was defeated in two matches with Beloit. In the first match, Ellsworth lost 14-25 and 15-25, while in the second match they lost 20-25 and 17-25.

Ellsworth’s C Team had a small taste of victory in its two matches with Beloit. In the first match, Ellsworth won the first game, 25-22, but lost the second and third games, 22-25 and 10-15. In the second match, Ellsworth lost the first game, 16-25, won the second game, 25-18, and lost the third game, 7-15.

Oct. 8 results

The Lady ‘Cats faced teams from Smoky Valley and Central Plains on Oct. 8.

Ellsworth’s varsity squad split three games with Smoky Valley in the first match. Ellsworth lost the first game, 9-25, won the second game 25-23 and lost the third game, 11-25.

Against Central Plains, the Lady ‘Cats varsity won the first game, 28-26, lost the second game, 22-25, and won the third game, 25-19.

Ellsworth’s junior varsity defeated Smoky Valley in game one of their match, 26-24, but lost the second and third games, 9-25 and 9-15.

In junior varsity action, Ellsworth won both games of a match against Central Plains, 25-10 and 27-25.
