Lady Dragons drop two

The Wilson High School Lady Dragons basketball team lost a hardfought game Feb. 18 on the road against Rock Hills, 48-23.

Scoring leaders for Wilson were Anna Thielen with 12, Cara Criswell with 5, Kami Thrasher with 4, and Bryna Hill with 2.

On Feb. 19, the Lady Dragons again lost at home, this time against Pike Valley, 56-36.

Cara Criswell led Wilson in scoring with 13 points, followed by Bryna Hill with 8, Kami Thrasher with 6, Anna Thielen with 5 and Grace Bohnen with 4.

The Lady Dragons play at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, against Wakefield at Wakefield.

The Wilson boys are scheduled to play at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, against Tescott at Wilson.

Kinsley falls to Lady Oilers

Domination was once again the name of the game Friday, Feb. 19, as the Central Plains High School Lady Oilers won at home against Kinsley, 59-13.

Brynna Hammeke led the scoring effort for Central Plains with 22 points. She was followed by Jennah Jeffrey with 14, Kassidy Nixon with 6, Lexi Oeser with 5, Lauren Oeser and Kyla Metro each with 4 and Callie Zink and Monica Short each with 2.

Ryan leads Central Plains

The Central Plains High School boys basketball team jumped back into the win column Friday, Feb. 19, by defeating the Kinsley Coyotes, 63-48, at home in Claflin.

Leading the scoring for Central Plains was Peyton Ryan with 22 points, followed by Michael Laymon with 18, Jacob Oberle with 9, Tyler Holmes and Dylan Kitchen each with 6, and Cole Lamatsch with 2.

Central Plains boys play Friday, Feb. 26, at Central Plains against Lost Springs-Centre.

The Lady Oilers received a bye and will play Thursday, March 4, PeabodyBurns.
