The Ellsworth Junior-Senior High School Lady Bearcats Varsity Volleyball team came away with a 10-11 record Oct. 1 after taking on Minneapolis.

The Lady ‘Cats varsity squad played two rounds against Minneapolis. In the first match of round one, Ellsworth dominated Minneapolis — winning both, 25-22 and 25-20.

In the second match, Ellsworth lost both games, 14-25 and 23-25.

The Lady ‘Cats junior varsity was victorious over Minneapolis, winning both games of the first match, 25-16 and 25-22; and both games of the second match, 25-16 and 25-21.

Ellsworth’s C team came up short in the first two games of the first match, 22-25 and 17-25. In the second match, the Ellsworth C team continued the losing streak 12-25 and 22-25.

The varsity stat leaders for the Lady ‘Cats in their two matches against Minneapolis were:

• Kills: Lakyn Tenbrink, 27; Shaylee Leiker, 15.

• Assists: Savannah Hellebust, 23; Jordi Thornton, 20.

• Digs: Shaylee Leiker, 25; Jordyn Coonrod, 22.

• Ace Serves: Natalie Rolfs, 3; Jordi Thornton, 2.

• Stuff Blocks: Lakyn Tenbrink, 4; Greta Klein, 2.
