The Ellsworth Lady Bearcats varsity volleyball team came away with an overall record of 9-10 after battling opponents Sept. 28 at Lyons.

In pool play, Ellsworth lost two games to Lyons, 21-25 and 20-25. The Lady ‘Cats went on to defeat Lincoln in the second round 25-17 and 25-12. In the third round it was victory for Ellsworth, with the Lady ‘Cats defeating Southeast of Saline, 25-19 and 25-19.

In the semifinals, Little River defeated Ellsworth in the first game, 26-28. The Lady ‘Cats battled back in the second game to win 25-17 but lost the third game, 22-25.

The third place match saw Ellsworth winning the first against Sterling, 25-21, but losing the second and third games, 21-25 and 14-25.
