Brynna Hammeke places 2nd in high jump and 4th in two other state events

LORI FARMER/Ellsworth County Independent-Reporter Members of the Central Plains girls’ 4x400m Relay team — Brynna Hammeke, Jennah Jeffery, Monica Short, and Callie Zink — also competed at state in Wichita.

Here are the Central Plains High School results from this past weekend’s state track competition at Wichita:

The girl’s 4x400 relay took 3rd in state with a time of 4:20.65. Team members are seniors Monica Short, Callie Zink and Jennah Jeffery, and sophomore Brynna Hammeke.

• Brynna Hammeke also placed 2nd in the high jump, with a jump of 5’4”; 4th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.59; and 4th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 100:27

• Senior Callie Zink placed 9th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:30.97. • Freshman Lauren Oeser placed

• Freshman Lauren Oeser placed 9th in javelin with a throw of 111.04.

• Sophomore Michael Laymon placed 8th in javelin with a throw of 154’8.

• Senior Tyler Holmes placed 8th in shot put with a throw of 45-6.50.

• Junior Cole Lamastch placed 6th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:42.56.
