CLAFLIN — The Central Plains High School Lady Oilers Tennis team dominated the scoring Sept. 24, during the Central Plains Quad tennis tournament in Claflin, with Number One singles player Emily Ryan going undefeated.

Central Plains took first with 24 points. The Ellsworth High School Lady ‘Cats Tennis team was second with 15 points. Hoisington was third with 14 points and Trego was fourth with seven points.

In Number One singles action, Lady Oiler Emily Ryan defeated Ellsworth’s Nicole Haase, 8-0. Ryan then defeated Gracie Hickson from Trego, 8-0, and Audrie Harms from Hoisington, 8-0. For Ellsworth, Ryan defeated Harms 8-1, and then Hickson, 8-2.

In Number Two singles action, Ellsworth’s Cassie Most defeated her opponent from Hoisington, 8-4. She went on to defeat her opponent from Trego, 8-2.

In Number One doubles action, the Central Plains team of Brynna Hammeke and Kyla Metro defeated Ellsworth’s Sonny Thompson and Rachel Sebesta, 8-0. Hammeke and Metro went on to defeat the team from Trego, 8-3, and the team from Hoisington, 8-0. Thompson and Sebesta went on to defeat the Trego team, 8-6, but lost to Hoisington, 8-4.

In Number Two Doubles action, Lady Oilers Jenna Jeffrey and Zoe Potter defeated Brooke Armstrong and Ashlynn Armstrong also of Central Plains, 8-0. Jeffrey and Potter also defeated Trego, 8-0 and Hoisington, 8-4.
