Lady Oilers subdue the Cougars

The Central Plains Lady Oilers took on the Otis-Bison Lady Cougars Tuesday, Feb. 4, for a regular season game winning 58-35.

Lady Oiler Emily Ryan was the high scorer for the game with 24 points followed by Delaney Rugan, 10; Addison Crites, 9; Kassidy Nixon, 8; Rachel Lamatsch,5; and Brynna Hammeke with 2.

The first quarter put the undefeated Lady Oilers up by 3 points with a 13-10 score at quarter’s end. Lamatsch, Rugan, Ryan, and Crites all put points on the board for the team in the first period.

During the second quarter, Rugan, Ryan, and Crites combined for 8 more points for the Oilers.

There were seven fouls in the first half and no time outs were called for the Oilers.

The score at half was 21-20 in favor of the Lady Oilers.

The Lady Oilers upped their game in the second half. During the third period the girls scored 16 points with Ryan, Crites, and Nixon active on the boards. Cougars called a time out with 4:22 on the clock. End of third left the Oilers up by 11 points.

Last period of the game the girls added 21 points to their total. Brynna Hammeke joined the others on the score board, scoring 2 points. Only four fouls were called in the second half, leaving the Lady Oilers ahead by 23 points.

The Lady Oilers played Meade Tuesday night.
