Natoma outplays Dragons

By
Bill Beckmeyer

Monday night the Wilson Dragons met a formidable foe known as the Natoma Tigers.

Although Wilson fought hard — especially at the end — the Tigers still managed to pull off a 60-40 victory.

The loss came at the Northern Plains League Basketball Tournament at Lincoln.

Coach Trenton Ptacek said he wished his team had found the intensity they showed during the last four minutes of the contest earlier in the game.

Ptacek also mentioned that this past week’s ice storm threw everything off as far as practice and schedule. If they would have had a regular schedule, perhaps the Dragons would have been better prepared, he said.

Ptacek said he was especially proud of his younger players who stepped in and led the charge at the end of the game.

Game statistics were not available by press time.

The Dragons next game will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Tescott against Rock Hills.

They will play again Thursday in Tescott, this time against Southern Cloud.
