Rodeo Run takes off at Marquette
Seventy-five people from near and far participated in the 6th Annual Rodeo Run on Saturday, August 1 in downtown Marquette. 40 people competed in the 5K Race and others walked or ran in the non-competitive 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk or Kid’s Short Course. This event was spearheaded by the Marquette Chamber of Commerce and proceeds go towards funding future Chamber and community events and promotion of the Marquette community.
The overall male 5K winner was 25-year old Joshua Paine of McPherson with a time of 19:00. The over female 5K winner was 42-year old Jaime Elseth of Lindsborg with a time of 23:59. Each overall winner received a medal, $25 in Marquette Chamber of Commerce Script, two drink glasses from the Smoky Valley Distillery, and a t-shirt or hat of their choosing from the Kansas Motorcycle Museum.
The top three 5K finishers in age group were also awarded with medals. Digital timing was provided by Timer Guys of El Dorado and complete overall and age group results can be found at http://timerguys.com/2020-rodeo-run-5k/. Taton Tubbs was the official race photographer and his photos are available for viewing on the Rodeo Run Facebook page.
Special thanks to all of the sponsors, volunteers, spectators, and participants who made Rodeo Run possible again this year!
