The Ellsworth Tennis Team, at left, took 2nd this past weekend at 3-2-1A regionals at Sacred Heart High School, Salina. The No. 1 doubles team of Brendan Anderson and Adam Vehring placed second. The No. 2 doubles team of Chase Bourbon and Jaret Brungardt placed sixth. The Bearcat teams will play at the state tennis tournament Friday and Saturday at Wichita.

The Central Plains Tennis Team also had a good weekend at the 3-2-1A regionals hosted by Cimarron High School at the Dodge City High School courts. The team placed 1st with 14 total points in front of Hoisington with 13 points. Oiler Peyton Ryan, freshman, captured first place in singles. He goes into state with a 29-0 record. Also bringing home a first were Karter Beck and Michael Menges, both Oiler seniors. They go to state with a season record of 17-13.
