The Ellsworth boys kicked off this tournament week Monday afternoon with a win against Plainville, 57-52.

The boys’ and girls’ teams are in Russell for the annual Amos Morris Basketball Classic.

The Bearcats next action in the tournament will be today (Thursday) against the Russell Broncos. Time TBA.

The Lady Bearcats lost to Plainville, 33-39. The Lady ‘Cats next action in the tournament will be today (Thursday) against the Russell Broncos. Time TBA.

The Central Plains Oilers also are part of the action. Both the boys’ and girls’ team played Tuesday night against Smith Center. Both teams will then play either Phillipsburg or Ulysses Friday.

The first round was Monday and Tuesday. The consolidation and championship games are set for Saturday.

Meanwhile, Wilson was in Tescott, where both Dragon teams played Monday against Tescott. The Dragons won 47-26, and the Lady Dragons also won, 27-26. Wilson is scheduled to take the floor again Tuesday, this time against SylvanLucas.

Looking ahead, both Wilson teams play Southern Cloud Friday as part of the Tescott tourney.
