Two Ellsworth wrestlers captured first place in their weight brackets to lead the wrestling team to a fifth-place finish Saturday at the Jeff Giles Memorial Tournament hosted by Minneapolis High School.

The wrestlers — Teagon Nienke in the 106 lbs. weight bracket and Tyler Romero in the 195 lbs. division — contributed to Ellsworth’s team total of 63 points.

Concordia took first place with 158 points, followed by Republic County, second 128 points; Minneapolis, third, 103; Plainville, fourth, 95.

Ellsworth was followed by Southeast of Saline, sixth, 55 points; Hays TMP, seventh, 23; Osborne, eighth, 19; Ell-Saline, ninth, 17.
