Wilson boys lose to Rock Hills

The Wilson Dragons varsity team lost Jan. 21 NPL tournament game against the Rock Hills Grizzlies of Mankato in Tescott by a 59-35 score.

The boys of Wilson struggled to make it to the top with a total of 24 turnovers and only making 2 of their 6 free throw attempts.

Camryn Eberhart lead his team with 12 points. Cooper Weinhold scored 9 points; Garrett Thielen, 4 points. Noah Crawford and M. Eberhart made 3 points each followed by Westin Hughes with 2 points.

Weinhold had the most rebounds with 7; 3 offensive and 4 defensive, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 turnover. Hughes had 3 defensive rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 6 turnovers. Thielen had 1 offensive and 3 defensive rebounds, a steal and assist, and 5 turnovers.

“None of our players played to their maximum potential.” said Coach Trenton Ptacek.

The next game was Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Wilson vs. Osborne. Results were not available at press time.

“We’ve had some really good intense practices. We are playing a very good Osborne team. If my boys play with intensity and work hard, that’s all I ask for,” Coach Ptacek said.
