Wilson falls in Homecoming loss against Northern Valley
WILSON — It wasn’t the Homecoming game the Wilson High School Dragons football team and the Dragon’s faithful fans had planned at home for the Oct. 4 match-up against the Huskies of Northern Valley.
Northern Valley defeated the Dragons in a tough 42-32 loss.
In the passing department, both teams kept it close. Wilson was two of eight for 40 yards, while Northern Valley was three for 11 for 39 yards.
The same could be said for rushing, as the Dragons ran for 184 yards while the Huskies ran for 192 yards.
Wilson had 224 yards of total offense, while the Huskies had 231 yards.
Interestingly, both Wilson and Northern Valley were even in the time of possession, with both using 24 minutes of the clock.
Wilson chocked up 15 first downs in the game, while Northern Valley had just 12.
Wilson was four of 13 on third down efficiency, while Northern Valley was three of four.
Defensively, Wilson’s Cameryn Eberhart had three solo and five assisted tackles. His teammate, Westin Hughes, had two solo and six assisted tackles.
Having crushed Southern Cloud in the season opener on the road in Miltonvale, Coach Tony Brokes and his purple and white squad have dropped the last four games against Lincoln, Clifton/Clyde, Logan/Palco, and Northern Valley.
The Dragons once again take it on the road Friday, Oct. 11, to face the undefeated Osborne Bulldogs.
