City, school board counts are official

There were no surprises during Monday’s official canvass by the Ellsworth County commissioners of votes cast during the Nov. 5 general election. According to Ellsworth County Clerk Shelly Vopat, 30 percent of the 4,160 eligible voters in the county voted.

WILSON — A report on the plan to improve the city sewer lagoon topped the agenda Monday during a meeting of the Wilson City Council.

ECF has a new warden

Ellsworth Correctional Facility has a new warden. Donald Langford started his new job Nov. 17, but he will split his warden responsibilities between ECF and the Larned Correctional/Mental Health Facility until a new warden is named there. “I worked there as warden for three years,” Langford said.

Moore to leave City Hall

Members of the Ellsworth City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to “terminate the employment, effective immediately” of city administrator Scott Moore.
