Grow Ellsworth County hosts a Hometown Holiday in Ellsworth with various Christmas-themed activities taking place the entire day. This event replaces the chamber’s past Jingle and Mingle event.

Fourth grade students show thanks
KANOPOLIS — Fourth grader Brailyn Honomichl ran to her mom, embracing her in a big hug as her parents joined students Nov. 20 for the annual Thanksgiving Feast.“I’ve been waiting the whole year to do this,” Honomichl said.
Elkhorn 4-H Club to present skit at County Club Days
The November monthly meeting of the Elkhorn 4-H Club was held Sunday, Nov. 26, at the First Presbyterian Church. President Josie Kueser called the meeting to order. Roll call was “What was your favorite Thanksgiving food?” and was answered by nine members and two leaders.

Thanksgiving Day lunch planned at the Ellsworth Senior Center
Members of the Ellsworth Ministerial Alliance will serve the annual Community Thanksgiving Buffet Dinner from 11:30 a.m.1 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Ellsworth Senior Center.Those attending are invited to bring their favorite holiday side or salad to share if they like.
Kanopolis water tower still in limbo
KANOPOLIS — The contractor with the low bid agreed to hold the bid for an additional 30 days for the new water tower project, Kanopolis City Council members were told during the Nov. 14 meeting.

As the winter season nears, the medical staff at Ellsworth County Medical Center is seeing patients experiencing the three seasonal illnesses — COVID-19, the flu and strep — although the volume of those patients appears to be light.

Correctional Facility to host Christmas on the ‘Inside’ Dec. 2-3
Christmas on the “Inside” celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.The annual event, hosted at the Spiritual Life Center at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility, is from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, or 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3. Doors open at 5 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.
Veterans honored at county schools
KANOPOLIS — Veterans from the Ellsworth VFW Post 6485 presented the annual Veterans Day program Nov. 10 to students at Kanopolis Middle School.United States Navy Veteran and VFW Post 6485 member Melissa Taylor, commander of Post 174, gave the address to students.
