Public meeting set for Jan. 20 in Wilson; special board meeting Jan. 21 in ClaflinCLAFLIN — A communitywide meeting regarding the future of Wilson Elementary School will be held 6 p.m. Jan. 20 at the WES gym.

The Ellsworth City Council officially welcomed a newly- elected mayor, incumbent council member and council member, a newly-re-appointed council member and a new council president at its Monday meeting.

SALINA — The two-day preliminary hearing, previously scheduled for Jan. 5 and 6 for Kayla Errebo, 32, Lorraine, has been rescheduled for 9 a.m. March 10 in Room 301 of the City of Salina/ Saline County Building, 300 W. Ash St., before Judge Amy Norton.

Santa Claus had a little help this year, thanks to the Ellsworth County Christmas Store and the many businesses, partners, donors and volunteers who have allowed it to continue to help Ellsworth County families for years.

It was a normal day at the Ellsworth County Clerk’s office late last summer when a letter arrived from Colorado asking for help. The body of the letter read:“My son will be 40 in November. His middle name is Ellsworth, after my father. He has not been very “flattered” with the name.

KANOPOLIS — At the start of the Dec. 9 city council meeting, the City of Kanopolis swore in a new council member and a new city clerk.Khrystal Serrien was sworn in as city clerk and Theresa Kyler as a new city council member.

The Ellsworth Kanopolis Geneseo USD 327 Board of Education met for a special meeting Dec. 10 to review results from a community survey and feedback.Lori Blake from the Kansas Association of School Boards is leading the search for the district’s next superintendent.
