County fair fun
The fairgrounds were bustling July 15-23 during the Ellsworth County Fair.“4H is just a fantastic way to raise kids,” said Sarah Goss, who with her husband, Brent, serves on the Ellsworth County Fair Association board.
There’s plenty to see and do this weekend
FRIDAY, July 28• Fort Wallace and Fort Harker re-enactors will have an encampment on the grounds of the Fort Harker Commanding Officer’s Quarters during the day and evening today and during the day on Saturday. Visitors are welcome and invited to ask questions of those in uniform.

The City of Ellsworth is taking steps to make it easier for residents to not only report a concern, but to see that concern resolved in a timely manner.
Hospital orders new carpet
Arequest for an additional $44,879 for Hutton Construction to complete a proposed hospital flooring replacement project was approved at the July 19 meeting of the Ellsworth County Medical Center Board.The hospital already has a $134,705 grant for the three-phase project.

At Monday’s meeting of the Ellsworth County Commission, approval was given to spend $2,000 and have First Wireless repair the analog backup router for dispatch at the Ellsworth County Sheriff ’s Office, which is down.
