Ellsworth Correctional Facility welcomes new chaplain

Ellsworth Correctional Facility recently welcomed chaplain Tim Hammye. Hammye comes to Ellsworth from the Coffey County Sheriff ’s Office in Burlington, where he served as chaplain for nine years. He has been in ministry for 30 years, and in April will have his master’s degree in ministry.

Council asks public’s input on Krizek Park

The detention basin at Krizek Park was once again a topic of discussion at the Ellsworth City Council meeting Monday evening. Not only was an executive session held for members and the city attorney, but a number of people were invited to speak by City Administrator Dustin Stambaugh.

Construction to close bridge south of Wilson

Wilson reaches burn pile agreement with Ellsworth County

WILSON — An update on the city burn pile was given at Monday’s meeting of the Wilson City Council.Mayor Mike Peschka said the city now has a signed copy of the contract with the county.He said the terms include the city deeding the property of its current burn pile to the county.

County to improve security

Security is being strengthened at the Ellsworth County Courthouse.At Monday’s meeting of the Ellsworth County commissioners, approval was given to the purchase of five 360-degree security cameras from H&B Communications, Holyrood, at a cost of $8,251.83.
