Janice Arlene Teske
(1940-2026)
On the evening of Friday, May 15, 2026, Janice Arlene Teske went to be with the Lord.
Janice was born in Ellsworth, Kan., to Dorothy and Alfred Schmoekel on Jan. 31, 1940. Though she spent most of her life in Allegan, Mich., she spent her later years in Pickens, S.C., to be near family.
Janice graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1958 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in teaching from Fort Hays State University, graduating in 1961. Janice worked as a teacher. She then met her husband, Robert “Bob” Teske, and was married in 1961. They relocated to Allegan, where they purchased a Tastee Freeze restaurant which they owned for many years.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Alfred Schmoekel.
Janice is survived by her husband Robert Teske and daughters Cathy Boysen, Jeanne Teske and Jennifer Cowles, several grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by many and remembered by one word ... “SWEET!”
