William C. “Bill” Spellman, 73, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, in Manhattan, Kan. He was born Oct. 27, 1952, in Holdrege, Neb., to C. Gordon and Doris J. (Alexander) Spellman.

Bill married Diane Grady in Dodge City, Kan., on March 25, 1978. He was a medical lab technician, working in the Kinsley, Ellsworth, Pratt and Salina communities. While working in Kinsley and Ellsworth, Bill also served as an EMT. He was a volunteer for the Kanopolis Fire Department and member of the Ellsworth County Sportsmans Club. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman, a passion he shared with his family.

Bill is survived by his wife Diane of Kanopolis; daughter Renee Spellman, Junction City, Kan.; grandchildren Nicholas Spellman, Manhattan, and Brenlyn Spellman, Junction City; sister Linda Kay Hilyard (Gary), Holdrege; nephew Todd Hilyard (Brandi), Holdrege; niece Ann Hilyard, Kearney, Neb., along with several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jennifer Spellman and sister Joyce Razey.

Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with family present to greet visitors from 4-6 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, at Parsons Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service.
