Local students named 2020 Kansas Governor’s Scholars

Three local and area students have been named Kansas Governor’s Scholars. Jordyn Coonrod is a senior at Ellsworth High School. She is joined on the scholar’s list by Brandalyn Grace Thyfault, Wilson High School, and Jerred Bieberle, Central Plains High School, Claflin.

Central Plains switches lights at schools

HOLYROOD — The Central Plains USD 112 board of education gave consensus approval Monday to have Jim Frees, maintenance man at Central Plains Elementary School, start removing the panel lights from the former Central Plains Middle School building in Bushton and install them at CPES in Holyrood.

Wilson reopens the doors of City Hall to the public

WILSON — The front door of Wilson City Hall was set to reopen to the public Tuesday, May 5. Mayor Mike Peschka made the announcement at the end of Monday’s meeting of the Wilson City Council.
