John Robert Mog was born to John and Roberta Mog on Feb. 26, 1955, and left us on Aug. 10, 2023. Johnny was the second of the brood, growing up on a small homestead in Ellsworth County, Kan.

Elwyn (Dusty) Briggs, 74, born July 3, 1949, in Eureka, Calif., passed away on Aug. 27, 2023, at Wilson Care and Rehabilitation Center, Wilson, Kan.He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1967 and attended Kansas State Teachers College.

Our dear Mother, Shirley June Thornton, sadly passed away on Aug. 20, 2023, at the age of 84. She was born on April 21, 1939, the youngest of four children, to Charles Otto Sr. and Gertrude Blanche (Sheriffus) Smith in Abilene, Kan.Shirley was a strong, independent woman and a loving mother.

Dorothy Neuschafer Grothusen, 100, originally of Ellsworth, died May 13, 2023, in Salina. She was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Ellsworth to Henry and Mary (Obadal) Neuschafer.She was a farm wife, journalist and mother, known for her inquisitive nature and community activities.

Lois Lee (Eggers) Weber passed away peacefully on Aug. 17, 2023, in Ellsworth, Kan. She was born July 27, 1931, in Ellsworth, Kan., to Henry W. Eggers and Della F. Grounds Eggers. An only child, Lois delighted in growing up on the farm with her mother and father and playing with her many cousins.

Lois Ann Warren, 79, of Anacoco, La., passed away Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023, in Ellsworth, Kan. She was born Aug. 12, 1944, in Ellsworth to Alfred and Madonna (Lyne) Schultz. She married Robert (Jerry) Warren on Sept. 21, 1963.

Randolph “Randy” Scott Kralik, 58, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, in Hutchinson, Kan.He was born, the youngest of five boys, Feb. 25, 1965, in Salina, Kan., to Raymond G. and Anita Darlene (Foos) Kralik.Randy worked 37 years for Slechta Enterprises in Ellsworth, Kan.

Charles Craig “Goose” Gwinner, 75, passed away on Aug.  8, 2023, in Houston, Texas. He was born on April 6, 1948, to the late Robert Charles Gwinner and Betty Jane Grubb in Ellsworth, Kan.Craig was born and raised in Ellsworth, Kan.

Robert Eugene “Red” Parrish, 81, of Little River, Kan., passed away Aug. 12, 2023, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River. He was born Nov. 10, 1941, in Peculiar, Mo., the son of Guy and Dorothy (Colville) Parrish.Red graduated from Ellsworth High School, Ellsworth, Kan.

Dwayne Charles,“Charlie or Chuck” Ramsey of Yukon, Okla., passed away Monday, July 31, 2023, at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, Okla., at the age of 87. He was born April 4, 1936, in Claflin, Kan., the son of Charles and Mary (Wendtlandt) Ramsey.He married Sylvia Ann Choitz on Feb.
