Commissioner again decide to leave mask mandate in place

Ellsworth County commissioners once again took no action Monday after reviewing the face mask mandate resolution they approved several weeks ago. “We want to keep the mandate on, I assume, don’t we?” Commissioner Kermit Rush asked his colleagues.

COVID exposure is a concern

Ellsworth County commissioners received a unique request on behalf of all county first responders during Monday’s commission meeting. Ellsworth Police Chief Emil Halfhill told commissioners he thought he was speaking on behalf of all first responders in the county.

Kanopolis water well needs repairs

KANOPOLIS — Members of the Kanopolis City Council learned Dec. 8 about a mishap at the new water well. Water back flowed into the chlorine system. Thaniel Monaco of BG Consultants is having a manufacturing representative technician investigate the problem.

Ellsworth council to consider $3 fee on water bills

Members of the Ellsworth City Council hope to consider a draft ordinance at their Dec. 28 meeting that would add a $3 fee to water bills for curb and gutter improvements. City administrator Rusty Varnado said the fee would raise $40,000 and residents he has talked with are supportive of the plan.
