Time immemorial

Since time immemorial, the idea of flying like a bird through the sky has appealed to the imagination. That imagination has brought us to a landing on the moon in present times, with aspirations of travel to Mars and beyond.

Busy back roads

Getting the hay wagon through the gate was always a challenge when taking bales off a field to be stored at a yard. All of the gates were constructed prior to the invention of round balers, and therefore, the openings were generally snug when trying to sneak a trailer through loaded with 10 bales.

Relentless

The morning of June 22, 1882, Caldwell Marshal George Brown and Constable Metcalf headed for the infamous Red Light Saloon and Dance Hall to disarm a band of rowdy cowboys. At the top of the stairs, Marshal Brown met Jess Green with a pistol in his hand.

Wyandotte murder

The morning of June 9, 1867, Michael O’Marrah was found “in a dying condition” on a north Wyandotte street.Doctors were called, but O’Marrah died the following day without speaking a word. His skull had been fractured in several places.

OPINION

When I was a kid, I wasn’t particularly sporty, and that hasn’t changed. I’ve always been short, though up until my 30s I was lucky to break 100 pounds. I tried a few sports — volleyball and basketball when I was in middle school.
