The Ellsworth Bearcat boys took the win over the Plainville Cardinals at home Jan. 24, 47-42.The Cats quickly put 10 points on the board in the first quarter. Fighting back, the Cardinals tied the game, ending the first quarter 10-10.

HOISINGTON — A statewide snowstorm Saturday may have temporarily postponed the Ellsworth Bearcat boys’ game against Pratt.

Central Plains girls beat Larned The Central Plains Jr./Sr. High School Oiler varsity girls’ basketball team won another one at home Jan. 16, defeating the Larned Indians 54-26.Brynna Hammeke led the scoring for Central Plains with 25 points.

HOISINGTON — After their game was postponed Saturday because of snow, the Ellsworth High School girls’ basketball team was defeated by the Pratt Greenbacks, 43-30, Monday in the third place game at the Winter Jam Tournament in Hoisington.

The Central Plains Jr./Sr. High School Oiler girls’ varsity basketball team earned yet another victory on the road Jan. 10, defeating Sterling, 54-39.

WILSON — The Wilson Dragon boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams traveled to Natoma Jan. 3 to take on the Tigers. Both Dragon teams were victorious.To start their game, the Lady Dragons put on a press to force turnovers and get an early lead.
