HOISINGTON — After their game was postponed Saturday because of snow, the Ellsworth High School girls’ basketball team was defeated by the Pratt Greenbacks, 43-30, Monday in the third place game at the Winter Jam Tournament in Hoisington.

The Central Plains Jr./Sr. High School Oiler girls’ varsity basketball team earned yet another victory on the road Jan. 10, defeating Sterling, 54-39.

WILSON — The Wilson Dragon boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams traveled to Natoma Jan. 3 to take on the Tigers. Both Dragon teams were victorious.To start their game, the Lady Dragons put on a press to force turnovers and get an early lead.

Ellsworth wrestlers qualify for stateEllsworth Bearcat wrestlers Bradley Vopat, 160 lbs., and Will Donley, 113 pounds, each won third place in their respective weight class at the regional wrestling tournament in Hillsboro. They advanced to the state competition Feb. 26 at Hays.

The Central Plains Jr./Sr. High School Lady Oiler varsity basketball team finished last year with a 25-1 record and the Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 1A, Division II state championship for the eighth-straight year.This year, the Lady Os are off to a 2-2 start so far.
