HOLYROOD — Members of the Holyrood City Council agreed Monday night to contribute up to $3,500 to repair and seal the blue floor surface on the city’s new splash pad. Mayor Brandon Koch said the cover has worn down to the concrete in a couple of places.

Ellsworth businessman and Kanopolis mayor Anthony Hopkins is among 40 Kansans from across the state chosen for the Kansas Chamber’s 2020 Leadership Kansas class. The six-month program begins in late April. More than 600 were nominated.

Holyrood makes good impression

HOLYROOD — Holyrood received a good review when visitors from Cawker City came calling in October. The splash pad. The park. Good streets. Neat lawns. “They were impressed with the community and how it looked,” said Nadine Sigle, of K-State Research and Extension’s “First Impressions” program.
