There was good news and bad news to share during Monday night’s regular Ellsworth City council meeting.The good — water terminations for unpaid water bills for November will be moved back until Monday, Nov. 29.

The Ellsworth County commissioners approved a letter of support Monday to Post Rock Rural Water District’s application for a $264,700 hazard mitigation grant to replace one mile of 10-inch water line near Wilson.

At the Oct. 20 meeting of the hospital board of directors, Shamarie Farthing, executive director of quality, said ECMC earned an incentive of 29 percent on Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas hospital patients through the quality reporting period of Jan. 1 through June 30.

Old county hospital moves closer to demolition

The old hospital building in Ellsworth took one step closer to being demolished Monday after action taken by the Ellsworth City Council.The council approved Ordinances 3123 A, B, C and D, directing removal of the old hospital building at 300 Kingsley, as well as 221 West Street, 225 St.
