Gasoline prices continue to rise

Kansas gas prices have risen 7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.67/g early this week, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 1,329 stations. Gas prices in Kansas are 16.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 91.4 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Filing deadline looms

Ellsworth resident Greg Bender has filed for the county commission seat filled for many years by Kermit Rush, who has announced he will not seek re-election. Bender, a Republican, is unopposed; however, Ellsworth attorney Patrick Hoffman, a Democrat, has expressed interest in the job.

WILSON — Updates on city board of health cases involving vehicles on properties in violation of city ordinances dominated Monday’s remote meeting of the Wilson City Council. The council granted Scott Lutz of 3006 Ave. F an extension until June 8 to get the vehicles on that property in compliance.
