Belleville contestant named Czech queen

WILSON — Haley Piroutek of Belleville was crowned the 2019 Miss Kansas Czech-Slovak Queen Saturday, during the 31st annual pageant conducted as part of the Wilson’s After Harvest Czech Festival. More than 30 spectators watched the pageant in the Wilson School commons.

Another successful Czech Fest ends

WILSON — Residents of the Czech Capital of Kansas celebrated the 59th annual After Harvest Czech Festival Friday and Saturday by embracing the festival theme — Family, Friends, Cheers. For the fourth year in a row, visitors didn’t have to deal with triple-digit temperatures.
