TIME TO VOTE

On Aug. 1, registered voters in the USD 112 Central Plains school district will have the opportunity to vote. The much-anticipated vote is a simple yes/no question, yet these weeks leading up to the election have been anything but simple.

Gearing up for school

As the weeks of summer melt away, I find my excitement growing for what lies ahead. I hope our students and families have enjoyed some time away from school — we can’t wait to welcome everyone back. Meet your Teacher is scheduled during the afternoon/ early evening of Aug.

Tragedy and terror

In 1879, big Texas herds bound for the northern ranges of Wyoming, Montana and the Dakotas were following the Western Trail into west central Texas. The trail crossed No Man’s Land, today’s Oklahoma Panhandle, on the way to Dodge City and Ogallala, Neb.

Dear Editor,Vote yes for kids to attend the nearest school.In my opinion, the issue is the 24 miles to Claflin, approximately 20 of those on three county roads. These are county roads, not state roads like K156 and K4 that serve Bushton, Claflin and Holyrood.

Hospital board should have open forum
