Wilson basketball teams split games with the Tescott Trojans

Led by senior Camryn Eberhart with 19 points, the Wilson High School Dragons Boys Basketball Team came out on top Jan. 15 in a home game against Tescott, 38-20. Also scoring in double digits for the Dragons was senior Garrett Thielen with 11 points.

Dragons split with Southern Cloud

Dragons notch wins at start of 2020-21 season

The Lady Dragons return three starters from the 2019-20 team. The experience has paid off. So far this season, Wilson’s victories have included Natoma, which ended in a score of 32-25.

Central Plains girls snap record winning streak

It had to happen sooner or later. The state’s longest winning streak in Kansas high school girls’ basketball came to an end this past week as Central Plains fell to Phillipsburg in a close 49-44 game. The action came Friday at the Amos Morris Classic at Russell.

Two Ellsworth wrestlers pin their weight divisions at meet

Two Ellsworth wrestlers captured first place in their weight brackets to lead the wrestling team to a fifth-place finish Saturday at the Jeff Giles Memorial Tournament hosted by Minneapolis High School. The wrestlers — Teagon Nienke in the 106 lbs. weight bracket and Tyler Romero in the 195 lbs.

Tournaments at Russell, Tescott on tap this week

The Ellsworth boys kicked off this tournament week Monday afternoon with a win against Plainville, 57-52. The boys’ and girls’ teams are in Russell for the annual Amos Morris Basketball Classic. The Bearcats next action in the tournament will be today (Thursday) against the Russell Broncos.

Oilers split two games
