Most foul issue lands at Wilson

WILSON — The Wilson City Council gave approval at the Jan. 21 meeting to updated guidelines for the keeping of animals and poultry other than household pets within the Wilson city limits. The guidelines will go along with the city’s animal ordinance said Mayor Michael Peschka.

Andrew Bair, chief executive officer of the Ellsworth County Medical Center, briefed Ellsworth County commissioners Monday on the question of whether the hospital will participate in the proposed Ellsworth American Legion 8,000-square-foot community center project.

When state inspectors looked at the 86-yearold bridge, four miles west of Ellsworth on Old Highway 40, they noticed the concrete was breaking down and decaying. Getting that bridge repaired is in the works. Construction was set to start Friday, Jan.

Sunflower merger expected to bring more efficiency

The Hays-based Sunflower Electric Power Corporation has merged with Mid-Kansas Electric Company Inc. The marriage of the two cooperatively operated, wholesale electric utilities incorporates Mid-Kansas into Sunflower.
