Virtual diploma benefits budget

HOLYROOD — Greg Clark, superintendent of the Holyrood-based Central Plains USD 112, has a good reason for republishing the district’s 2020-21 budget — the unexpected success of a virtual high school diploma program partnership with Graduation Alliance.

A new home awaits barn

The Levitt Barn, below, was moved in 1946 from near downtown Wilson to the Princ farm east of Wilson along Kansas Highway 232. Plans call for the barn to be moved again, this time to a site close to its original location.

County mask mandate lifted

Ellsworth County commissioners voted unanimously Monday to rescind the county-wide face mask mandate, after consulting with Dr. Ronald Whitmer, county health officer, and Kerianne Ehrlich, supervisor of the county health department. The mandate had been in effect since Nov. 9, 2020.
