Wilson science teacher faces criminal charges

WILSON — A Wilson High School science teacher is facing two criminal charges after being arrested Sept. 20 at the school. According to Ellsworth County Sheriff Murray Marston, Julie Hays bonded out of jail the same day she was arrested.

Malir Family The 64th annual Malir family reunion was Aug. 11, 2019 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. There were 62 members from four branches of the Franz and Anna Malir family attending the potluck meal along with two guests, Pastor Luther Brown and Judy Ruckman, Ellsworth.

Anew medical provider is now seeing patients at Ellsworth County Medical Center. Ryan Lahey, a certified physician’s assistant, started Aug. 12, after doing his student rotation at ECMC a couple of months earlier with physician’s assistant Shawn McGowan. “I love it,” Lahey said.

It’s not a presidential election year; however, this November will be every bit as important to local voters. There are openings on school boards and city councils. Most races have only one candidate on the ballot. Several are contested.
