Lady Bearcats place seventh by defeating the Russell BroncosCoach Brett Rolfs and his Ellsworth Jr./Sr. High School Bearcat boys’ basketball team finished first Dec. 10 in the Amos Morris Classic Basketball Tournament in Russell, after beating the host team, the Russell Broncos, 55-44.

Ellsworth Jr./Sr. High School Senior Byron Johnson took 30th place out of 103 runners Saturday during the 3A State Cross Country Championships at the historic Rim Rock Farm north of Lawrence.

On Oct. 22, Byron Johnson became the only member of the Ellsworth High School cross country team to qualify for state after the team competed in the 3A regional championships hosted by Goodland High School.

The Ellsworth High School varsity volleyball team improved their overall record to 21-13, with an NCAA record of 7-3 after competing Oct. 18 at Ell-Saline.The Bearcats swept all three games of the match against Ell-Saline 25-15, 25-18 and 25-23.
