Ellsworth’s Byron Johnson wins Lyons

Tuesday, Sept. 28, the EJSHS cross country teams traveled to Lyons High School to compete in their invitational, hosted on the campus of LHS.Summer had held on for one more day, making it a warm day to run. Regardless, it proved to be a great day to run.

Ellsworth, Wilson fall; Central Plains scores another win

When asked how he thought the Bearcat football team played in Friday night’s Homecoming game against the Beloit Trojans, Bradley Vopat said, “I think we showed a lot of grit, spirit, and what we really can do when we play at our best”.

Cross country team travels to Southeast

The Ellsworth Junior-Senior High School cross country teams traveled Tuesday, Sept. 21, to Southeast of Saline.Coach Eric Coonrod said, “This hasn’t been one of our strongest courses in the past, but good weather and a slightly different configuration translated into a faster course for all teams.

Metro captures first place

Central Plains Oiler Kyla Metro (5-0) captured the Trego Invitational tennis championship Saturday with an 8-3 victory over Trego’s Caroline Brungardt.Hoisington’s Ashlynn George placed seventh with an 8-2 victory over Victoria’s Autumn VonLintel. Oiler Ashlyn Armstrong finished 10th.

HOMECOMING COURT

Wilson only has three boys that are seniors, which is the reason there were only king candidates Friday night at Wilson’s Homecoming ceremony.

ONE FOR THE OILERS

Lady ‘Cats are 2-0 in league

The Lady ‘Cats volleyball team ended Saturday’s tournament at Ellsworth with an overall record of 4-5 and a league record of 2-0.
