Dragons crushed by Osborne 60-6

The Wilson High School Dragons football team lost another game of the 2019 season Friday, falling to the Osborne Bulldogs, 60-6. In essence, the game was over by halftime, with the Bulldog defense dominating the Wilson offense in the first and second quarters.

The Central Plains Junior-Senior High School Oilers took another step backwards Friday, being defeated by the Pratt-Skyline Thunderbirds, 46-0. It was the fourth loss for head coach Chris Steiner and his Oilers squad for the 2019 season.

PHILLIPSBURG — In 30-degree weather on Friday night, the Ellsworth Bearcats beat the Phillipsburg Panthers in a stunning, low-scoring game, 14-13. Phillipsburg won the toss and chose to defer. Ellsworth began possession on their own 34-yard line. The Bearcat offense started off strong.

Ellsworth, Central Plains volleyball faceoff

CLAFLIN — On Oct. 10, the Ellsworth Lady Bearcats Volleyball team competed in a tournament at Central Plains Junior-Senior High School in Claflin. After the tournament, the varsity squad’s record is 10-15 overall on the season, with a 5-3 record in the NCAA.

ST. JOHN — The Central Plains Oilers football team bounced back from last week’s 48-0 Homecoming defeat against Little River with a 48-0 victory Sept. 4 on the road against St. John. The Oilers’ William Laymon had three rushing and three pass receiving scores against the Tigers.
