The Ellsworth Jr./ Sr. High School volleyball team played host to the to the Republic County Buffaloes in an NCAA league contest for their home opener Sept. 2, with the Bearcats winning both matches in convincing fashion.

NORTON — The Ellsworth volleyball team traveled Saturday to compete in the Norton High School Volleyball Invitational. Going 4-1 on the day and laying claim to a secondplace finish, the Bearcats made a strong statement on how they expect to perform in their 2025 campaign.

WICHITA — Sophomore Molly Ehrlich battled through injury the last half of the track season, and concluded the season by placing 14th at the state meet.The meet, held May 30-31 on the campus of Wichita State University, hosts all schools 1A-6A at the event.Ehrlich ran the 3,200m race in 12:39.21.

SCOTT CITY — Three athletes advanced to the state competition at the regional track Meet May 22.Junior Lainey Peschka and sophomore Molly Ehrlich are headed to state for the second time, and will be joined by senior Keeley Pflughoeft.

Senior Aidan Johnson one stroke shy of advancing to stateKINGMAN — The Ellsworth golf team competed in 3A regionals May 19 at Eagles Pub and Golf Course, a par 72 course.“Aidan Johnson missed qualifying for State Tournament by one shot,” head coach Darin Holecek said.

BELOIT — On a chilly Friday afternoon, the Ellsworth girls’ track team placed 10th at the Beloit Relays.“We only took a handful of student athletes to the Beloit Relays on Friday,” head coach Nick Rodriguez said of the May 2 meet.The rest of the team competed May 29 at the Hoisington Invitational.

MINNEAPOLIS — On April 15, the Ellsworth High School golf team had a day of medals, beautiful weather and multiple personal records at the Minneapolis High School Golf Invitational.

The Ellsworth girls’ track team placed third at their home meet April 15.The meet was followed two days later by another competition in Lindsborg at the Smoky Valley Invitational April 17.“Having two meets just one day apart is extremely difficult,” head coach Nick Rodriguez said.
