On Sept. 29, 2024, Janice (Handlin) Stites, 86, of Hill City, Kan., passed away in Wichita, Kan., joining her beloved husband, Dennis. Janice was born Feb. 25, 1938, to Herman and Agnes (Hudson) Handlin on a farm in Ellsworth County, Kan.

Pamela Ann (Neuman) Karnes, beloved mother and sister, adored grandmother and aunt, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Sept. 12, 2024, in Carmichael, Calif. She was 74.Pam was born in Ellsworth, Kan., on April 11, 1950, to Harry and Sylvia Neuman.

Robert R. “Bob” White, 88, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2024, in Lincoln, Kan. He was born June 16, 1936, in Lincoln County, Kan., to Fred and Hazel (Ahring) White. Bob was a longtime resident of Lincoln County, where he was a farmer and stockman.

Fr. Charles Lee Steier, beloved priest and dedicated servant of the Diocese of Salina, passed away on Sept. 22, 2024, in Hays, Kan.

Garry Michael Mahoney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on Sept. 22, 2024, at the age of 89.

Bryan Bonar, 59, passed away Sept. 16, 2024, after a heart attack in Shawnee, Kan. Born in Kansas City, Mo., on June 29, 1965, Bryan spent his life traveling the highways and byways of America as an over-the-road truck driver.

Richard Clay Tilton, 99, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on April 18, 1925, in Lincoln, Kan., Richard was a devout Christian, deeply committed to his faith throughout his life.

Laren D. Redetzke born Aug. 3, 1944, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, at Ellsworth Hospital. His parents, Arthur and Viola (Purma) Redetzke, preceded him in death.He attended and graduated from Buffalo School in rural Ellsworth County, Ellsworth High School and Dodge City Community College.

Scott Michael Davis, 69, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, in Ellsworth, Kan. He was born on Oct. 1, 1954, in St. Francis, Kan., to L. Vernon and Roberta (Walter) Davis. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1972.

Margaret Lou (Marston) Beagley, 80, of Russell, Kan., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, at her home.Margaret was born Jan. 26, 1944, in McPherson, Kan. She was one of seven children born to Delbert and Ada (Shaw) Marston. She grew up in Canton, Kan., and graduated from Canton High School.
