Teams kick off fall sports seasons

Ellsworth VolleyballCoach Amy Johnson has 25 girls out for Bearcat Volleyball this season, which is up from 17 last year. There are also three amazing managers, who are an important part of the volleyball family.

MIDWAY DISTRICT HOSTS 4-H ARCHERY STATE QUALIFIER

Above, The Midway District hosted the annual 4-H Archery state qualifier on July 9. Twenty 4-H members from eight participating counties competed in the shoot. For the first time, all members from the Midway District qualified for state in the bow hunter and open compound categories.

BEARCAT TRAP SHOOTERS COMPETE AT STATE

The Ellsworth Bearcat Trap Team competed at its first Kansas State High School Clay Target League State Tournament on June 18. There were 587 athletes that participated in three divisions.

100 hole golf marathon

Two men played 100 holes of golf Friday in memory of Mark Cunningham.“Growing up, dad and I played golf almost every single day,” Mark Cunningham II said of his father, who died Sept. 23, 2004, from stomach cancer. “He always made time to golf every day. It was always something he made fun for me.
