Ellsworth begins football season with home win against Beloit

Coach Josh Homolka and his Ellsworth Bearcats Football Team began the season Friday with a 14-9 win at home against the Beloit Trojans.Leading the scoring for the Bearcats was junior quarterback Will Cravens and junior Loden West each with one touchdown.

Ness City defeats the Oilers 26-8

The Central Plains High School Oilers Football Team tasted defeat during their first outing of the season Sept. 2. They fell 26-8 at Ness City to the Eagles.Ness City held the Oilers scoreless for three quarters.Central Plains had four penalties in the game costing the team 30 yards.

Coach Keeley Hipp and her Central Plains High School Cross Country team had a good showing Sept. 1 at Hoisington, for the first meet of the year. Boys Junior Varsity runner Cale Thompson took first with a time of 20:26, and Boys Varsity runner Peyton Ryan placed second with a time of 19:31.
